Free barcode inventory app

Free for 100 items. Not free for 14 days.

Scan barcodes and QR codes with the phone you already have, check stock in and out, and keep a separate inventory for every truck, site and store. No credit card, no countdown.

What a small business actually needs it to do

Four things that decide whether barcode tracking survives contact with a real week.

Scan with the phone in your pocket

Barcode and QR scanning is built into the app on iOS, Android and the web — the same camera reads both. There is no hardware to buy before you can start counting.

Check stock in and out, on the free plan

Record what left, who took it and when it came back. Check-in/check-out is on the free plan on purpose — it is the part most free tiers hold back.

A separate inventory per truck, site or store

Create as many inventories as you need — we do not cap how many. Your 100 free items are shared across all of them, so nothing gets mixed up between locations.

Keeps working without signal

The mobile app stores items, folders and inventories on the device and syncs when you are back online — a basement stockroom or a job site with no bars still works.

Print your labels before you sign up for anything

The label generators are public. No account, no plan, no email address — type your codes, pick a sheet, print.

What the free plan includes

All of it, on the free plan, with no credit card on file.

  • 100 items in total, shared across every inventory you create
  • Barcode and QR scanning in the app, on phone and on the web
  • Check-in and check-out, with a note of who has what
  • As many separate inventories as you want — we do not cap them
  • Folders, nested as deep as you like, and tags
  • One photo per item, and one custom field of your own
  • Spreadsheet import, and CSV export in the same columns so it re-imports cleanly
  • In-app low-stock alerts when an item crosses the minimum you set
  • Activity history, so you can see what changed
  • Two read-only viewer seats per inventory, on top of your own

And what isn't free

Worth knowing before you start, not after you have entered ninety items.

Low-stock alerts by email

Essential and above

The free plan raises the same alert in the app; it just does not email it to you.

Maintenance, inspection and expiry reminders

Ultra and above

You can record the dates on any plan. Being reminded before they are due is the paid part.

Printing label sheets from inside the app

Paid plans

The public label generators below need no account at all, so this is not a wall between you and a printed barcode.

Sales, purchase and other financial reports

Ultra and above

Inventory reports — low stock, item flow, move summary, user activity — are open on the free plan.

A second full user

Paid plans

Free is one editor. Read-only viewers do not use up a seat.

Questions people ask first

Is it actually free, or is it a trial?
It is free forever for 100 items. There is no credit card at signup and no countdown — 100 items is a ceiling, not a trial length. If you never pass 100 items, you never pay.
Do I need a barcode scanner to use it?
No. Scanning uses your phone or tablet camera — on iOS, Android and the web — and the same camera reads both barcodes and QR codes.
Can I print barcode labels without signing up?
Yes. The barcode generator and QR code generator are public pages that need no account, and they lay codes out on Avery 5160, 5163 and 5164 sheets ready to print.
What happens when I reach 100 items?
Nothing you have already entered is touched or locked — you are asked to upgrade before adding item 101. See what the paid plans cost.
Does it work without an internet connection?
The mobile app does. Items, folders and inventories are stored on the device and sync when you reconnect. Reports and financial documents still need a connection.

Start with one shelf

Scan what is in front of you, see whether it sticks, and decide about paying later. A hundred items is a lot of shelf.
